About the Canada question bank

Each region sets its own rules, so questions are organised by province or state rather than pooled together. Pick your region above to get the right question set.

Every question includes a written explanation, and the same content is available in English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

This is an independent study aid, not an official government service. Confirm current rules in the official handbook before you sit the test.

How licensing works here

Canada does not have one national written test. Each province runs its own graduated licensing system, writes its own handbook, and sets its own pass mark. A question that is correct in British Columbia can be wrong in Ontario.

  • BC knowledge tests are run by ICBC and can now be written online from home.
  • Ontario G1 tests are taken at DriveTest centres; signs and rules are scored separately.
  • Alberta Class 7 tests are booked at a registry, not a provincial office.
  • Time spent in one province’s novice stage often counts if you move, but the rules differ.
